Colour fade of your hair system particularly in Australia can be a real problem. A lot of men who haven’t previously coloured their hair so they don’t fully understand why their hair systems fade or lose colour. People often think that it’s only due to sun bleaching. But the crux of the matter is that the majority of the hair that gets made into hair systems is black so the manufacturer must bleach/lighten the hair which brings out unwanted red/orange or gold tones. Permanent colours don’t work because they contain hydrogen peroxide which makes the hair more porous and dry, the more you use a colour containing peroxide the more quickly your hair will lose colour. Some semipermanent colours stain the hair and a lot of the ashen colours have too much purple in them to counteract the gold tones which leave the hair an unnatural colour.
